I’m not as extreme as I used to be. I just figured that out after following photographer Kristoffer Erickson and snowboarder John Griber’s blog on their epic up a mountain in Pakistan (the 11th highest peak in the world). Griber is a longtime shredder from Jackson, and Kris Erickson is a mountaineer/photographer from Livingston Montana. I’ve known Kris since we were little kids, so I always hear about his exploits from pioneering ice climbs back in Montana, to Antarctica and Tibetan expeditions. He gets after it.

So Griber is the shredder and Kris is the photog. Check out the last post from their last push up the summit

We don’t do a whole lot of expedition features in Transworld, that’s not to say we don’t get into some pretty remote regions … usually with photogapher Eric Bergeri. But we did run a feature in our February 2006 issue called “The Disappearance Of Marco Siffredi” written by Trey Cook. It stands out in my mind as an awesome story of a Chamonix-based rider who summited Everest at the age of 22. I’ll get it up on the site so you can check it out. But really, the summiting the mountain with sherpas, avalanches, months in a tent thing kinda passes us by. Check out this blog to see what it’s all about.
