I recently squeezed in a quick trip to High Cascade Snowboard Camp at Hood. It was completely awesome and just the kick in the ass I needed to get through the summer.

Anyway, I snapped and peeled off to Hood for a weekend. I showed up at the same time a whole crew of fellow ex-HCSC employees were there: Sean Tedore (K2 Board engineer), Robbie Sell (Photographer), Corey Grove (Cobra Dogs). Rian Rhoe (Salomon Bonfire PR), Scotty Wittlake (The), Jesse Grandkoski (Airblaster), James Jackson (Side Effects Snowboard Shop). It was a total reunion.

HCSC has a new park off the Palmer that you can just lap off the chair, which is good news ’cause the pipe felt like it was at about a 1,000 degree slope. I got into a good routine of shredding the park until the lift stopped at 2:00 p.m., then hitting the pipe for a few runs. Then skating, dodgeball, Cobra dogs, Volcano cones, and a healthy dose of lurking … you know the Government Camp routine. It’s awesome.

I have to apologize for my lack of foresight in snapping photos for this here blog, but I was kind of on a selfish shredathon. I did shoot a few pics when we were riding the lift. You know, it’ll be a while before I get to strap in again.

Bonfire’s Rian Rhoe and ol’ fish ‘n’ chips Sara Phillips finished off the lift-accessed portion of the day. I hiked the pipe after this and watched Gretchen Bleiler do her thing after my desklegs gave out.
