Jamie Anderson Is Badass

Last season I interviewed Jamie Anderson for the January Dirty Dozen issue. I remember asking her about what the future holds and here’s what she said:
What?s next for you in snowboarding?
I want to definitely start riding pipe more. I?ve always liked it, but I never ride it enough to learn stuff in it. So this season I?m going to get good at pipe and start doing more pipe contests because I have fun in it. I just come unnerved because I kind of suck, but when I dedicate a lot of time to it and learn some new maneuvers ?
I also want to film a new video part. Hopefully film with a guy crew someday?that?d be pretty cool. I have to make some goals ? I had a goal of going to the X Games and winning it, so I need to make a new goal. I think it?d be pretty sweet to go to the Olympics?if it happens, that?d be cool. It?d definitely be cool to be an Olympian.
I think I said something stupid about coaching or something when she mentioned that she wanted to learn how to ride pipe, maybe that’s why it stands out. Anyway, I bring this up because 6 months later she won the New Zealand Open Halfpipe beating out Kelly Clark with an inverted backside 540. Granted, the field wasn’t completely stacked, but still, pretty damn impressive.
Could it be that the 2010 Olympics aren’t far behind? Judging from the rider in 2nd place, she might have some competition from Beijing.

[Spet 4: Okay, okay, she slipped to third in pipe at the Australian Open this week, but back in first in Slopestyle and at the top of the TTR. She's going into another sick season for sure ... and she graduated from high school finally!]
